Eldermount combines holistic health and wellness with a unique adult day service that includes three levels of programming designed to meet the individual abilities and interests of each member on a daily basis.
At Eldermount, we reassure members of their value and significance in the community while encouraging them to maintain or regain optimal health. Time at Eldermount provides members an opportunity to socialize and make new friends.
Adult Day Programs
Adult day programs are daily programs that offer members a chance to spend time with others, enjoy planned activities and have their healthcare needs met, all in one place. This network of health services and social support allows the person to live at home, yet still receive the assistance needed. Professional staff at the adult day center offer encouragement and supervision while members participate in programs that promote optimal wellness. Having a member spend time at an adult day program offers the caregiver assistance and relief from caregiving responsibilities.
Who is Eligible to Attend?
Men and women age 50 and above who would benefit from socialization, nutritional support and healthcare services all in one convenient location are eligible to attend Eldermount. Eldermount services are available Monday through Friday. Members may attend up to five days per week. Transportation services may be provided for an additional fee.
Our program area in the new state-of-the art Bayley Place Community Wellness Center, on the Bayley Place campus, promotes independence and security in an attractive, home-like setting. Large open activity areas, a screened-in veranda, a secure outdoor patio and classes in the indoor heated pool are just a few offerings available.
Health Services
Our Registered Nurse administers medication and monitors members’ overall health. Trained Nursing Assistants provide personal care. Daily exercise routines and health talks encourage members to stay active and well. Physicians, including a podiatrist and audiologist, visit Eldermount on a regular basis and are available for consultation. Optical services are available to members by appointment. Additionally, we offer a shower service as well as massage, occupational, physical and speech therapy. Blood pressure screenings, weight monitoring, TB testing, flu immunizations and select laboratory services are also available. Members are served a nutritious hot meal and snacks each day. Our staff monitors members’ nutritional intake and special dietary needs.
Social Services
After an assessment with our Licensed Social Worker, members are invited to join one of three distinct programs designed to meet their specific abilities and interests. Our team of professional staff works with the member, the family and the doctor to develop individual goals based on a plan of care. Our Licensed Social Worker conducts caregiver support groups and is available to assist families with information and referrals.
Caregiver Support Group
The caregiver support group at Eldermount Adult Day is open to members of the community. Come and share your situation, talk about your concerns, and participate in group discussions. The support group also provides guest speakers from various agencies that can offer resources available and information on topics such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Medicaid, respite care and long-term care options. The group meets bimonthly from 4-5:15 p.m. at Eldermount Adult Day Program. Call 513-347-5443 for additional information or to make a reservation. Activities
Daily activities provide and opportunity for members to interact socially with others. We offer a full range of activity choices including spiritual, physical and intellectual activities in both small and large groups. Our full time Activity Director plans a variety of events and field trips that offer opportunities for creative self-expression and intergenerational activities. For example, our members attend sports events, take trips to local attractions and restaurants, celebrate holidays, reminisce about days past, are challenged with trivia games, and enjoy the view while relaxing in the rocking chairs on our screened-in veranda. Wellness activities include exercises in our indoor heated pool and use of our fitness equipment and indoor walking track.
